Formula Explained
The calculator uses the industry-standard formula:
Cubic Yards = (Length × Width × Thickness/12) / 27
- • Length and Width are measured in feet
- • Thickness is measured in inches (divide by 12 to convert to feet)
- • Divide by 27 to convert cubic feet to cubic yards
- • Add 7.5% safety margin for spillage and inconsistencies
